WHY LEARN HOW TO PASS SPIDER GUARD?

Spider guard is a commonly seen guard in competition that can be done by anyone (people of all ages and sizes). Being able to pass the spider guard and control your opponent prevents them from being able to perform a variety of sweeps, and or attack with a triangle submission, for example.

Controlling your opponent is the key to being successful when it comes to a "street brawl," or competition. As the Jiu-Jitsu maxim states: "Position before submission."
