Jacob Benedicto Bio/ Course Synopsis:

My name is Jacob Benedicto, and I am a BJJ Blue Belt from Atos JJ Las Vegas. I have been doing BJJ for 7 years, and I am an incoming Senior in high school.

I am a top-game player who likes to pull guard. My favorite pass, submission and position is the X-pass from open guard, Ezekiel from any position, and of course, and mount.

​

My favorite guard and sweep as of right now is the crowbar De La Riva and the berombolo from that said guard.

​

One sequence that I love to use in my matches is going from the balloon sweep to the armbar while my opponent is still in midair.

My competitive accomplishments include:

• 3rd at IBJJF 2022 Worlds

• 2nd and 3rd at 2022 Jiu-Jitsu Con

• 2nd at 2021 IBJJF Worlds

• 2x 3rd place finish at IBJJF 2021 American Nationals

• 2x 3rd place finish at IBBJF 2021 Jiu-Jitsu Con

The techniques from the video start off from learning how to address the open guard and basic X-pass, toriando and etc. After that, I show how you can go to the leg drag and pass from those positions to side control. In the third video, it is about how to still pass when your opponent defends the leg drag and stops you from passing. The forth video demonstrates how to finish from side control using the lapel and going for collar chokes. The last video is just working off of your opponent’s defense against the collar choke, and switching to an armbar from there.
